I did... but I couldn't care less about the correct silver, so I just sprayed it with the silver Krylon spray can I had on the shelf.

I've done the same, Krylon "dull aluminum" with good results

Same here, any similar color can available locally. More aluminium than silver itself

that Krylon "dull aluminum" is very close to the light argent used in several places on the 68s. It is what I use.
