Steering column colors

I have the whole thing apart and stripped. I was going with SEM Trim Black for the outside shaft, two-piece collar, and metal wire cover which I don't have yet. Then the tube below in silver? The actual steering shaft and coupler are bare metal I think but not sure if I should oil it and hope for the best, or paint them.

All inner pieces are bare metal. Just Collar pieces are painted matching with dash color. The firewall bracket, column to dash bracket and all the pieces in between are black no matter the interior color

I painted the inner piece to protect it, but I left the ends bare. No sure if I should rub it with Gibbs oil or something to protect it.

I painted the sleeve in trim black and the brackets gloss black. Looking good!
