'71 Charger concealed headlamp relay/where?

The shop that worked on my Charger mounted the concealed headlamp motor relay on the lower dash frame up against the structure that supports the pedals and steering column. It's been years since I have seen under one of these dashes that has everything where the factory put it, but this doesn't seem right.

Since the wires for this relay come out of the same bundle as the wires for the lighter, the wires are stretched pretty tight to reach both. Plus, I'm afraid the exposed terminals will short on the radio case..

I pulled out the ashtray and passed it through the gap and mounted it between the ashtray and glovebox. The wiring harness definitely seems happier with it there.

I just moved the headlight on buzzer over a little to make room for it. Easily accessible for service by taking out the glovebox. This is where it's likely going to stay. I just have to figure out where to tie down a flasher that seems to be bundled in with this mess. I would love to know for sure where it's supposed to go. I'm not averse to moving it again if necessary.

That's the correct spot for the relay.

The turning flasher attaches to a side of the ashtray housing where IT SHOULD get a clip/bracket to hold it. It has been shown around several times. Making a search should appear

This is the clip... I know there are pics about how it fits on ashtray housing because I have uploaded by myself.

Thanks. That seemed like it should be at least approximately the correct location for that relay. At least it made sense given the relative lengths of the wires. The clip for the flasher is attached to the flasher. I may have to remove the ashtray (again) and move the flasher back over to the steering wheel side of things. The shop that worked on my car told me they took hundreds of photos. I have not seen any of those photos. However, even if they exist, it's obvious that they didn't reference them when they put things back together.

Flasher stays on glove box side of ashtray housing attached to it
