Where does this mount exactly.  I had tied it out of the way when I pulled the motor (wasn't bolted yet) and trying to figure out where it belongs.

thanks

Since 73 they take the place of the regular windshield washer reservoir, using a bracket reinfocement with 3 studs from underneath, and servo bracket mounts with nuts to these studs ( earliers use screws straight to inner fender ). If you are adding it, will need to get the specific washer reservoir for the passenger side.

Well actually all cars mounts on that place, but since 73 the washer reservoir got that location, these must be get the specific reservoir for the cruise control setup.

Check this car pics. The engine bay view is not wide enough to show every detail but gives you an idea.

I have pics on my laptop because I was searching for all the parts years ago to add it to my car it took me a year or se to collect all the parts ) but I'm still lazy laid down over the bed LOL.

wait.. what?  washer reservoir?  I think this has something to do with the speedometer?  I can get better pictures of both ends of the cable coming out of it if that's helpful.   wont be until tonight though.
The cruise controls that 70sublime mentioned could be right and would explain why I cannot find it on my other car.   There is an entry point on the top in the picture I suppose for a vacuum line.   I'll have to figure out where that is too.. Probably one laying in the bay somewhere.

I never said it was washer reservoir, I told it takes the place of the washer reservoir of the non Cruise cars on inner fender. 70 Sublime already mentioned before is the Cruise Control unit.

It works with manifold vacuum taken from the brake booster check valve extra tee ( this tee is capped when cruise control is not equipped ). It gets two cables, one from tranny the other to the speedometer. Also linked to the carburetor throttle with a parallel wire to the gas pedal throttle cable.

Oh... Okay two things confused me on that.

The photo you attached was huge... I didn't realize i could stretch to the left more and see the driver side inner firewall.   I see it mounted now.
So when I first viewed it I seen only the passenger side and didn't know what I was looking for.
The other thing that I'm now confused with is, I have a reservoir in that exact location of the picture where it shows the cruise control.    I'll see once when I get home I guess.  Maybe they mount next to each other in this one.   Or maybe they added it at some point.

Sorry for my confusion, and thanks.

Found a "photo" of where abouts that thing mounts.

but... I see no way that that bracket bolts through the fender.  The bracket does have the bend to go with the contour of the inner fender, so... I'm not sure if that piece with the studs slips under part of the inner fender which then accepts the bracket?

Yes, that reinforcement with studs slips underneath the inner fender. Once in place studs should get "retainers washers" on top ( can't recall the exactly name for them ), to keep it in place and then attach to the studs the cruise control bracket with nuts.

Washer reservoirs for cruise control cars fits on passenger side as shown on pic and is a very specific part for these. Not reproed and not easy to find.

Thanks Nacho -
Isn't it odd on this car to have the actual reservoir already mounted where this cruise control supposedly mounts?  I'll check tonight if this thing even belongs in the car.  (I.e.  I'll see if there is even a cruise switch on the column).  This is not the original motor to the car so I suppose it could have been brought in and they just let the thing lay?
Found a photo that might be useful.

That is not a cruise control option switch on the column is it?

if that is true... maybe all i need to do is get this part (if even needed)

Well it seems your car never got CC from factory and last owner was collecting the parts to a future upgrade?

Is not the speedo wire you shown which must be the correct lenght, but speedo wire gets two sections to link in the servo control into the speedo setup, allong with a parallel throtle cable, a throttle lever attached to carb, extra throttle wire bracket, bracket on brake booster for the throttle cable run, harness through the firewall, turning switch lever with speedo controls attached as shown, servo and related brackets AND as mentioned the washer reservoir on opposite side if you want that one for correctnes OR use any aftermarket replacement to install it on a diff place from the factory location on non CC cars

Yeah, doubt he was collecting parts.  In the photo earlier, the thing must have only been laying in there.  I just don't recall since that was a few years ago now, and I didn't take the car apart.   My guess is he pulled this setup from anther vehicle bringing along this CC piece because it was there.  Who knows.
I'll pull this CC piece and hook up directly as it should be then.

Thanks!
