I have a puller but is there a tool to install a crank damper as I understand that the bolt shouldn't be used ?

I never have seen somebody using that tool or similar in Vzla LOL. Just the bolt itself

If the factory bolt has good thread engagement, no reason not to use it to pull the damper on. I always hammer it on half way, then use the bolt.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

I am sure you use a block of wood to hit on the damper :)
