what shocks are you guys running on your 73 dodge charger?  there isn't a lot of options unless you want to spend over $150 a shock for QA-! or Bilstiens... i need something cheaper, but still a firm ride... i dont want the old Cadillac float

I went with the basic Monroe Matic gas charged shocks front and rear ... very pleased. Smooth ride but not floating.

I had them bought from NAPA. Saved the receipt and returned them 8 years later. The guy at the counter was stunned. (Same for plug wires. ) Wile not Rally grade matics are better.

I'm runnin KYB Excel G ( GR2s back in the days)... not impresive but better than Gabriels... I think

On rear we have at least the KYB Just-A-shock ( or Gas-A-Just, can't recall which one is the new name ) for rear... monotube, because they are the same from earliers too

They were worn out, my car is daily driver. Back then I was in construction I had the trunk stuffed full of tools. Rockauto had Monro-Matic for like 10.00 each. I did my Jeep and Charger for 60.00 each.  :2thumbs:

Yep, deal same here. I can't find anything wrong with them, they do what they are supposed to do and ride nice.

but it was a warranty claim?
Old NAPA all you needed was the receipt for lifetime warranty parts and I saved them. (For exchange at any store.)

Nacho-RT74

Lots of lifetime warranted parts as they know most will not keep paperwork and or car that long.  :2thumbs:

I have KYB's on the 72 and the 73. If you want stiff and cheap the KYB's are your ticket.

I looked back through my receipts. On the 73 the fronts are KYB Excel G Gas #343158. The rear are KYB Excel G Gas #343159. Bought them fall of 2019.

same ones I have on my car, called GR-2 when I got them. I was expecting something way stiffer than the Gabriels my car had. They are OK, better than Gabriels but still not HiPo

Right. They are not performance shocks. They do ride very stiff, although they seem to be getting a little better with some usage, or I am just getting used to them.
