Off question, I realize, but just curious if anyone used horns like these vs the factory horns running at $125+:

Originality under the hood isn't crucial to me, so I was looking for something that looks similar, works just as good, and doesn't have to 'break the bank' on something like this unless it's really needed to. I didn't see any reviews on the Summit main page, so I thought that here was the next best bet,  ;). Thanks for looking and curious on thoughts over whether it'll fit / mount okay or not...

Why don't get them used?

This guy has some

Easy to test per request.

They can be rebuilt at home if you still have yours. Most of the time is just about clean them up inside from the moisture along the years.

There is a thread on 3rd gen Charger board about how to service them, but unfortunately pics are long gone

Here is. With the photobucked "crash" years ago pics were missed, HOWEVER they changed back to show their watermark on pics posted on boards. You can click on pics yet and open on a diff tab or window and will open clean.

Hey man - thanks for the reply (sorry for the delayed response). Mine, actually, was lost long before I rescued my Charger. So, as a winter project I was looking into how to wire them up. I've seen some used on up on Ebay, but figure that perhaps put that $ to a new one. If they're easy to repair / restore, that's certainly interesting and may be doable too. I'll see if I can find some wiring diagrams, etc. Thanks again...

Wiring diagram? No mistery here.

A black wire from steering column horn switch is the ground trigger up to relay on radiator core support

Violet wire from alternator stud feeds the positive to relay

Green wire is the output from relays up to horn.

And you are done!
