Direct replacement for '69 factory discs

Hi all,
I'd like to get working front brakes on my '69 project just to make moving it around a bit safer (it has no drivetrain as of yet, I just push it from my barn to the garage to work on it). My car was originally a 383 2 barrel but it was optioned with the front discs from the factory. I remember reading on here awhile back that it's tricky to find parts for the factory bendix brakes, and more modern 2 piston calipers preform just as well, if not better than the originals anyway. There seems to be a lot of info on drum to disc conversions, but not as much on what is a direct bolt on replacement for the discs. :shruggy: Does anyone know what my options are?

Thanks,
Stephen

Thanks nacho!
I did read that thread earlier, but it wasn't quite answering my question. I did just re-read it and it made me realize the question I should be asking. Is there anything at all that fits on the factory disc brake spindles, or do I need to change the spindles no matter what i do?

Judging by the absence of info I'm gonna take a leap of faith and assume I'll need to change the spindles  but i'd appreciate confirmation from someone more knowledgable before I start hunting for parts

Depending on your budget, Baer Brakes has a kit that will fit factory disc spindles.

What wheels and size are you using?

well I think it is pretty much covered there, having the option at Year One for unicast rotor replacements to be mounted on existant spindles instead the original hub and rotor assembly, replacing the hub for the unicast rotor

I do want to stick to the 14's. Right now the disc conversion kit from CPP seems to be the most tempting as a few people say the were able to fit 14s by clearancing the calipers just a bit.
