As stated, but functions normally otherwise.
Should I be looking for a short in that system, or can their be another
problem?

This is on a 70 Charger with a Painless re-wire.

Thanks, Joe

PS Turn signal lights work OK

PPS Just remembered we changed rear taillights to have dual filaments in all three bulbs each side,
could there be a feedback from that???

The gauge will survive LOL. the ammeter is hard to beat.

How does it go with hazzards and brakes?

Does it go from C to D (+40 to -40 )? from D to C (-40 to + 40 )? I meant... which side of the amm flicks to first ? does it makes the all full sweep from side to side ?

I have a 69 Charger and my ammeter gauge bounces when turn signals are on sitting at a stop light and the car is at idle

When the motor is turning faster there is no bounce

Try to speed up your motor a little bit and see if it goes away
When turning slow the belts are not going very fast to give alternator much chance to charge

I have the same issue with mine.  Anxious to see what suggestions there are for resolving.

If you've ever had a gauge out and in your hand and looked inside them, you'll understand that a very small movement at the base of the needle translates to a wild swing at the end.
