g day guys wish to buy an r/t  tail stripe decal for my 69 charger but they only sell a gloss or a matte black i seem to remember reading somewhere they were a satin finish from factory which is correct & the side marker is cut out exposing the color of the side marker correct ? thanks all

The side marker bezel colour should match the stripe. The stripe is x cut and folded into the hole.

I just finished mine yesterday. I can't see how you could buy a stripe with the side marker cut outs ready. It's a custom job and the vinyl needs to be tucked in around the side marker as well as around the rear fenders and trunk lid

I think we need to read better the question.

Was the stripe originally semigloss  ?

All stripes available are Matte and gloss... none manufacturer offers semigloss

Bezel is not supposed to be body colour, it's supposed to match the stripe on a '69

I thought I read him say Satin, not Semigloss?

Nacho-RT74

Satin... semigloss... is the same. That it means I understood the question LOL. The fact is the middle point between matte and gloss is not available anywhere. Mostly sure because no one vinyl manufacturer makes that finish nowdays, if it was available someday for real in the past. Was the original stripe satin/semigloss? I can't answer that question. Does somebody here able to answer it?

The two "bigger" Mopar decals providers, Phoenix Graphics which only offer stock setups and doesn't mention the finish and doesn't offer custom options on the products list... and Performance Car Graphics which offer custom finish/colors but just offers gloss, matte and reflective but doesn't mention semigloss as an option. I guess if it would exist they would offer it.

BTW, PCG lists black as gloss on the main box, and you can go matte on the custom selection

Would that mean the gloss finish would be the "stock" replacement? And no black semigloss is available from vinyl manufacturers?

The only semigloss color on the custom list is maroon
