So I have a long OEM wire that appears to be for my rear defrost, and would go from the dash control to the defrost motor on the package tray. The connector for the dash has two wires (one black, one white), but by the time the wiring gets to the motor end there is a single black wire connection.  So the white wire terminates in the wrapped wiring along its length.  Strangely, this looks all original. Can anyone familiar enough with this wiring to verify that this is correct?

while on lates models the blower got a resistor block mounted on to select speed from switch, earliers like your one got a resistor cable for the low speed and regular wire for the high speed which splices into a single wire being the only source for the blower. When selecting the high speed, the resistor cable won't matter.
