Guys, I have a side mirror (manual adjust) and the mirror has become loose.  The base and frame are tight.  However, the mirror will not hold its placement. Is there an adjustment on these mirrors or does anyone have a fix?

Thanks, Martin

Wow!

First, welcome.

Second, no, there is not adjustment available really. The spring retainer over the ball what allows the rotation could get worn. I think the ball is on head side? Will need to remove glass and check if can be fixed, replaced, loaded somehow.

Thanks, that is what I was afraid of.   Now I know how I got the mirror for the price I paid! LOL

if you check the inside rearview mirror, it works pretty much the same than the side mirror, with just the diff the inside mirror can be removed and the ball is on the mounting bracket side. When the spring on that piece come loose it can be "revived" somehow adding some extra pressure somehow. The spring is attached with a screw inside so its somehow "serviceable".

New replacement glasses are available for the side mirror anyway if you decide to break it to try to service the spring over the ball joint. Or you could try to remove the glass without break it ? can't tell it. Glass is glued. Maybe some glue solvent, thinner will help.

anyway, I can't recall how are these mirrors inside.
