I know someone will know what these mystery wires go to...  First off, I did buy the YearOne engine harness, so it is supposed to be the factory specification.

The car is 400 CID engine with 727 Automatic Transmission. The engine wiring, like a number of things, was not 'per spec' when I got the car.

First mystery wire in pic #1 is a gray wire and is located behind the carberator.
Second mystery wire in pic #2 is a blue and is along the drivers side fender.

Thanks for the help!

Thanks for the tip on the gray wire. My friend is actually doing the labor on this and has been shaking his head at all the bad work found from the prior owner...

Anyway, does that blue one have something to do with an ac unit? I had bought another pigtail thing from year one for the heater and it too came with extra wire for an ac (which i don't presently have but someday may install.)

Hopefully we'll have this wrapped up by the weekend. Be nice to drive the car again!
Thanks again!

Gray wire it looks to be the Oil unit sender one for the location, but not for the color.

The blue wires it could be A/C presostatic valve located on Dryer, However that depends of what wing of what valve do you have...  some valves are horizontal prongs side by side to plug the one you got and another ones are vertical parallel prongs one above the other. Originals are side by side horizontally. This valve is a Gas sensor... when A/C gas system is empty or out of prssure then cut the power to compressor clutch.

One of the blue wires it should came from inside the cab parallel to the green blower wire. The other blue wire goes to Compressor clutch.

Hey Nacho,
Thanks for your input on this.  I always scan your replies in here because I know you have basically touched and redone every piece of the car and are always able to share a lot of information.  Think I am going to start calling you Professor Nacho! Thank you!

hahaha, thanks... but remember I can be wrong also... plug also looks similar to one of the cruise control uses but colors are different. If you think oil sender is not teh right color, then...

Normally blue wire that goes directly to dryer is on tranny bulkhead plug same as green blower wire, depends of equipment. On 74 becuse interlock system uses more cavities on bulkhead then Blower and clutch wires are throught firewall with a grommet.

Once blue line arrives to dryer, then goes to clutch trought engine harness. I linked both harnesses with a male/female link to be able to separated... I'm not sure if is on that way originally since my car didn't had complete originally the engine harness ( was burned on some wires ), but I made it
