Trunk Lid Adjustment:

Hi all,

Besides the trunk lid latch, just curious to find out if the trunk lid itself can be adjusted or does it only go on one way...? Reason being, my right side fits perfectly. However, the left is somewhat raised higher. I'm thinking that it's either the lid that needs adjusted or the weatherstrip isn't exactly where it needs to be somehow. When I push down on the lid, it does give & you can see / hear it go into the weatherstripping.

Before I go tearing out the weatherstrip, just curious if the lid 'can' be adjusted... :scratchchin:

Thanks for any info...

Just bend the lid a little

Put a chunk of wood 2 X 4 in the good side near the back edge of the opening then push the other side that is high down a little at a time to see if it fits better

Thank you for the reply,

So...place a 2"x4" in the rear corner (closest to the rear glass) of the good side and gently push down on the side that needs lowered some...? Being gentle and using padding along the paint is key I reckon.'

No !!!! adjust the front of lid to the dutchman panel with the hinge adustment then put a 2x4 at the low side of lid where the rubber bump stop hits, then gently push down on the other side,
