Can someone tell me how to remove the chrome trim on the glove box door? I guess this needs to be removed first before the latch can be removed.

press a tab inside the lock ( you will notice a small hole to that ) and insert the key. That tab is what keeps the cilinder on place. Once you press and insert the key, then tab will keep pressed and then cilinder will be released just pulling out.

I hate to admit but I still can't figure this out. I'm sure its as simple as Nacho says. I recall a small hole on the chrome trim of other cars I've had maybe the size of a paper clip. Here is a couple of pictures. I just want to paint the door so its not critical that I get it off but its bugging the s*#t out of me.

search here, inside glove box lid, You have to remove cilinder from latch, keeping latch on lid. Latch can be removed later.

Notch is close to a big washer that keeps cilinder on place.

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

to release the lock it must be in the locked position

Nacho-RT74

:iagree: forgott to say that. Tab is only vissible on locked position:

this is the order:
Lock cilinder.
Remove the key
Press the tab and keep it pressed until:
Insert the key.
Pull out cilinder with key attached and will come off easilly.

What if you don't have a key, like me?  I just poped the chromew off with a screw driver.  I just hope I can press it back on with some vice grips.
