Edelbrock Performer intake won't work with stock EGR

I have a new Elelbrock Performer intake on my 318. The linkage hits the EGR valve unless I get a spacer under the carb. It would probably need 1/2" to 3/4" to clear it. The instructions with the intake say it will not accept stock EGR equipment. Is there another EGR valve that will work? Has anyone run accross this before? Thanks in advance.
