Looks awesome as usual Dennis! You do have me wondering though. On such a stock type resto, what made you decide to go with white face gauges? I'm no saying they look bad or anything ,just curious.

Brian I guess since I have white interior and a white top and stripe. I'm not sure about going with the stock look under the hood. I did have a bigger cam aluminium intake, valve covers etc but may go back to the stock look. I even had stainless on my inner fenders at one time and don't ask why, that was over 30 years ago when I did that. I had it riveted in but took it all out and welded up all the holes. I'm not ever gonna sell it so it won't hurt the value I guess. As far as going to shows to get oem awards I don't care about that. If I was doing them right now I probably would have done the gauges stock though.

I used Eastwoods, it was 119.95 a box. After I got it they dropped the price to 99.95 a box  :brickwall:

Hi 70RT!

Great project!  :2thumbs:

I'm really happy that I came across this thread!
I know it was a while back, but I'm just curious how many boxes of Eastwood's sound deadenor you needed?

I'm about to be at that stage soon on my '68...

Thanks

Thanks Tuffy!

I'm still McLovin it.... you know I love those '70 Chargers!  :drool5:

I was on the fence about those white faced gauges, but since it already has white interior, white top, and white longitudinal stripes (my favorite), I think you had me at hello.....  :icon_smile_wink:

Well maybe even before hello.  :D

The70RT

Thanks everyone, Tuffy, yeah not going to any concourse show that they worry about paint daubs, markings and all that. After I put in an aftermarket AC system originality is out the door so??? I am thinking about going with the stock dual snorkel air cleaner, manifold, valve covers. I had a torker intake and MT valve covers on it with headers. Looking for the correct intake and valve cover now. Luckily found some original exhaust manifolds and the air cleaner for 75 bucks years ago :)

I don't think you can go wrong with that car whatever you do.  :2thumbs:

The70RT

I see the original twin AC compressor is still around for less than what I thought. I guess everything else is too?? I'm gonna need some brackets too. I guess since I'm going back with stock look that would probably be better. I need to find an intake an intake number 2951736 & some valve covers. If anyone has some let me know.

I got the headlight buckets cleaned up and polished the rings and got them installed. I still have three original headlights. Also put the reverse lights in too. Picked this pair up 25 years ago at a swap meet for 20 bucks....he had three sets... I bought one  ::) Pretty much doing what I can do until I get more funds. I had to have some foundation work done to my garage, so the 6 grand I saved up for interior and or drive train is history.  :brickwall:
