I guess I am referring to someone else's car.  It is in the large Mopar coffee table type book that was compiled by Robert Genant I think.  There is a chapter in the book dealing with the aero cars and there are a couple of pictures of a t5 bronze 500 with dog bowls and I believe Texas licence plates.  I guess I put 2 and 2 together but came up with the wrong conclusion.  Sorry.

No problem....

The 500 is hard to catagorize in a way.  It was repainted in 83 or so at which time the seats and carpet were redone.  As far as I know ( I have know this car for 17 years) the motor has never been touched internally and the same goes for the 4 speed and most other mechanical aspects o fthe car.  It got a prettying up 24 years ago.  The plug wires are Chrysler and are dated 1st quarter of '72 if that gives you any clue as to how it has been in mechanical hybernation.  It currently has just over 70,000 miles which is pretty high mileage for an original hemi 4 speed car.  I try to drive it once a month except for the summer months when it's just to hot here.

He doesn't drive it to my house because he's afraid my tears might leave water marks :'(, and the claw marks would require a fresh repaint :icon_smile_big:.

That not too high of a mileage count for a HEMI 500. Definately not something that was parked a lot in the early days, but not the highest mileage I've heard of either.

I would put my 500 in the same catergory, except that the repaint on it happened before the 80's. According to one owner it was in 1973, the other says 1974. So I leave that one up to debate, but it has been repainted once, and still presents half way decent. Has battle scars, but its a heck of a lot of fun to drive.
