Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the electronic ignition coil with the dual ballast resistor? It's a 74' -318.  My service manual is not very helpful (a first). I have 5 wires.(light green, light brown, dark green, black, and gray) The manual is telling me there is only two. A brown and black. I had put the wires on exactly like the previous coil, which was a no name performance 12v coil.  I am putting on a Mopar Performance blaster coil. Thank you in advance guys!!

I think this will work ;)

I'm not ilustrating the complete 74 wiring, just the basic to turn the engine ( once you press the reset button if you don't have fastened the seatbelt )...colors are aproximatelly the real ones  where was posible

So I should only have two wires that go to my coil? A brown one that comes from the ballast resistor and a black negative? MyMopar.com had a gray wire on the positive side of the coil for 74, making it three total wires. Thanks again. Nacho for the help.  Your a God send to us Mopar lovers. Especially the 3rdGenners. :2thumbs:

probably the other wire was for optional tach, however stock tach was green traced yellow wire hooked on negative side of coil.

Another probably wire this time hooked on positive side of coil is Radio Noise supressor condenser, normally mounted on coil bracket

For some reason when I hooked up the negative black wire with the surpressor on it to the coil, the car would not start. I put it on exactly the way it was before on the neg side of the coil. When I put it on the positive side it started getting hot. When i took it off completely, since it only goes to the coil and the block, it started. The manual had also said to put the wire with the radio surpressor on the positive side. Like I said it, started burning. I'm confused? The car is wired exactly the way it was before. Everything is on the coil except that wire with the surpressor. The car runs great.Thank you so much again, Nacho for the wiring diagrams and advice. What would we do without you?
