The last conversation-piece Daytona that sold on eBay went for $40k - the burned out & rusted hulk with the 355xxx VIN number.  Guess this auction will give us a little bit of an idea where the Rebodies-Are-OK crowd pegs the price of a Daytona, right??

:rotz:

69_500

Can't believe the price of that. Then again links back to the car Gene mentioned. But if I remember at least on that car some of the parts looked like they could be salvaged. This car doesn't have a straight piece of good metal anywhere on it that I can see.

If anyone had anymore doubts .It turned out to be XX29L9B402977.Now it needs to be recorded as such condition. For down the road when it later will reappear and be reintroducded at a later time back in to the wingcar population .What about the ebay auction shows the dash serial number  shown removed :popcrn: The TX Toast daytona was 355107 .The 355109 turned up on here on a response from MOPAR HEAVEN user with I got from Nascar driver owned daytona post

There wasn't much useable from the TX Toast car in my opinion, but then again I wouldn't have given 40,600 PENNIES for that hulk much less DOLLARS....  OK, yeah, maybe I'd have given $406, but that's just because I'm a softie for wing cars...

Here's the link to refresh everyone's memory of what actually did sell back in 2006 for $40,600:

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

I thought my 'Tona was going to be a big project... but it is looking better all the time!  :2thumbs:

What makes you think the C500 will EVER be complete?  :icon_smile_big:

The "Debris-Field" Daytona is bid over $15K with almost 4 hours to go... basically an engine short block & transmission with an envelope containing a mangled VIN plate and rusted out fender tag... INCREDIBLE!  :o

BTW Danny... go ahead and bid... there will be no sniping tonight from "xs29j8"...  :whistling:

Don't tempt me. You know I have a weak spot for anything resembling a real wing car. My wife would shoot me if I bid on it at this point.  I had told her I was thinking of bidding on an engine and tranny that were out of a Daytona, then when I said how much they were at she about threw me out.

We sure do get worked up over something that has no real proof unless we are there when the money changes hands.
