first need to know what kind of setup you have. there was two kinds, one with iddler pulley and one without:

with iddler pulley

here is the pulley, attached to the compressor bracket.

BELIEVE IT OR NOT, IT TOOK ME 6 YEARS DISCOVER THIS... How it was attached the pulley!!!! just couple of weeks ago discovered the bracket view around

the non iddler pulley compressor bracket is diff and the setup looks like this:

which BTW I think is the common setup... notice the diff hose too.

Thank you for the pictures, my only problem is all a/c stuff is missing off my 74, except condensor, just purchased the pully bracket one off of e bay about an hour ago, cost me 30.00 with shipping, not bad if it is  what I need, I have a variety of pulleys. I took hoses off of another 74, but everything else was gone. Will have to take it step at a time. thank you again for your help.

so it was you who was biding ? LOL I was thinking on get it BUT would need to modify the hose to the new setup, and honestly didn't want to spend money on that AGAIN ( recently made all the hoses new ).

Now you'll need the rest of lines. TAKE CARE with that pulley setup HOSES are DIFFERENT between both setups. So need to get the right hose/line OR build it.

Now you can get any compressor ( BB or SB ) and use that bracket. Compressor uses another variety of reinforcement braces allong with that bracket. If you get a BB/RB compressor, probably you'll be able to get the rest of braces, and then fit that bracket with iddler pulley.

BTW the blue car is mine... an old pic though

Thanks for you help and if I need some more info I'll hooler at ya""" Thanks. I Was wondering if I needed to change  the thermostat housing to pointover to the right for hose clearance.

T stat housing is allways straight up in all setups

I guessed you got the bracket/pulley location assembly by the pic LOL.

If I can get better/more pics will post.
