on a 2nd gen charger, 15" wheels, you can go 10 in the back

yeah i believe a lot have done it !!  15 x 10 wheel with a 5 & a half back space !!  would of thought  that its with the stock width quarter wheel arch lip  , & not the wider ones on the repoped quarters , unless thay are trimed to stock width  :shruggy:

Tan Top where did you get your rims? I'm thinking of copying yours if you don't mind. Any pics of them on the Charger yet? (No sense in wasting all your research!)   :yesnod:

no worries B5B  :2thumbs:   if i can help i will  :yesnod:
was originally  going to get a custom made rallyes ( yeah i know a 70 charger wheel !! but like them  :drool5: , plus the second owner of my charger had them on at one point , & seeing the pictures looked good to me ))), 15 x 8  with a 4 inch back space , so i could run a 255 tire on all four corners ,  ideally though a custom back space of 4 & 1/8 th of an inch is what you need !! well at least on mine !!
got my steel 15x8 with a four inch back space from wheel vintiques !! ( was about to paint them Y2 , but think it looks too much for my taste !!so painted them satin black ))  was going to get a custom back space of 4 & 1/8th  also , but at the last minute of ordering  went with 4  ,   4 & 1/8 would of been better in the rear !  but wanted a 5 wheels the same !!
also all this messing about cause i wanted as deeper dish look as i could  with all the wheels being the same , & the tires tucked under the wheel arch lip !! &  no chance of rubbing  :yesnod:
have a read through my posts in these threads , especially the one in the areo section !!   :popcrn:

Well we do think the same, my concept was a 5 matched set like you.  :2thumbs:  (Just "in case")

khodne

I put Mickey Thompson Drag Radials, 325/50/15's on 15x10's with a 5.5 inch BS on the rear and Mickey Thompson Sportsman ST 245/60/15 on 15x8's in the front.

I used Bull's deal he made with Kelly at Specialty.

There is BFG Radials on the other one 295/50/15 on 15x10's with 5 inch BS.  I couldn't use the neutral BS wheels with the bigger tires.

Yes, I wish more people would contribute to it.  Whether it's working out sizing problems or finding a good look, there is a lot of good help here already and there is so much more that could be shared.  This thread has really been helpful to me.

I tried the 15x10's with 5.5bs, they were close, I would need a spacer to keep em off the leaf springs. Im thinking 5" bs with a 305 tire...?

:iagree: they are close.  I'm just finishing rebuilding the Dana and switched to 4.10's.  I'm planning on taking the advice of Ron and use 295/65/15's.  I'll gain 2 inches in height and narrow the tire an inch which should give me more of a gap to the leaf spring.

Take the rear end color poll  http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,75942.0.html

komninon

khodne do you think 325-50-15 would fit on 15x10 with 5 backspace?
i am running 295-50-15 right now but i do Not know how much wider they are.

khodne

I removed original comment.  Patronus is correct, it is to tight without a spacer.  I thought 5 inch would be to close to the quarter.  Here is a picture of the green Charger with 5 inch BS and 295/50/15's.

I believe you mean the 5.5 stick IN too far... anyway... if anyones wondering, the nitto555r comes in a 50 series to match the rear (15")...not like BFG's, the fronts are 60's

From what I am seeing and reading, it seems I can tuck a 335-17 on an 11 inch wheel in the rear.  I measured and looks like I have 13 inches of clearance from the spring to the inner lip.  Anyone know for sure ?

Hi I haven't posted much on this forum, yet, but my rear tire/wheel combo is:

345/30 ZR 19 Michellin Pilot PS2
Wheel: Budnik 19x 13
wWe widened the tubs up to the frame rail, about 3in. Std diff width flange to flange. wheels & tires fit great, not a lot of clearance but do not rub.
