It's a lot more yellow than you think.
Yes, Larry is doing the work on it, and I am sure it will be nothing short of spectacular ( no pressure Larry  :icon_smile_big: )

Here is the car during it's "Pre-flight" inspection ...

Larry can paint mine too when that day comes around, if he wants too...........

Not now.... I just want one day to have a fresh paint job.. It's been a while since I had one.. just little things like small chips in the paint due to road driving and such.. The paint job was done in '94......

Only way to avoid those pesky rock chips and such is to keep them on the trailor, and that is simply no FUN

Yeah, I wish the car had been a tad more factory in color, and didn't need some attention, else I would leave the color, and just fix/resto the mechanical stuff.
Guess I'll have to worry about a perfect paint job getting chips and dings.. oh well... :icon_smile_big:

Hi Dave,
The car's at Larry's shop being restored currently.
I'll be posting progress pics and be asking questions I'm sure, along the way.
Thanks for asking.

FYI that link didn't bring me to the ad but the main page. But when I tried to search , I found no Dodge ( or Plymouth or Chrysler for that matter) , in the dropdown box for Makes.   Odd... :shruggy:

dave's link worked yesterday, but now it's doing the same thing here.

< edit >  the original link that dave posted is back up and running

Same old ad seen before just said guy inherited car from his dad who bought it in 1971  Description

A beautiful '69 Dodge Charger Daytona! I am putting this listing in for my friend Andrew who owns the car. He has owned it since 1987 and inherited it from his Dad who purchased it in 1971.

Should have pulled the seat covers off.

It's a moo point now.

Other than small tears in part of the covers which were covered with black tape, they are actually in pretty good shape.
Probably put the seat covers on to protect them from further deterioration.

I created a separate post below about the Special order sheet found in the car, when we were looking for the buildsheet.  We found the special order sheet under the back seat, and the original buildsheet under the front.

It also seems to appear, after Larry's shop was taking down the car for paint, that the  car had a vinyl top on it at one point.   After a call from the son of the long time owner ( since 71), he thought he recalled the car having a vinyl top on it when he was a kid.  He is trying to get some old pics to go along with the history of the car.

Ok an update is a long time coming and it seemed fitting to have a couple of Daytona Resto posts going with the Graveyard Carz .

For those who don't know , the deal was sealed at Larry's Shop - Maniac Muscle Cars - back around Labor Day Weekend.
Since then Larry and crew took little time to get the car stripped down to see what was needed body-wise, overall it has needed little.  The bodywork in the PS quarter was minor, Larry found a dent in the trunk lid, the nose had some filler but overall not bad at all.   Larry had concerns about the hood, but as usual he did a great job on it .
Below are some pics of progress, because it's worthless without pics, right?
This may take me a while...
