Mark realized his show is failing vs gas monkey garage......or is he still mad he is not the face of dodge.  :icon_smile_big:

Mark does it because he really loves Mopars, Richard does it for the money and publicity.   :Twocents:

So what does that make DODGE then since Richard is sponsored by them and didn't sponsor GYC  :icon_smile_big:

He even talked about how disappointed he was with DODGE why his show didn't the sponsorship a year ago.  :popcrn:

Don't get me wrong I like the show for the obvious reason but his constant derogatory, down grading, demeaning comments towards the crew kill it for me. I did collision work for 38 years and only once did I ever have a manager like him and that didn't last to long and I will leave it at that.

I'm with you Highbank. love the Mopars being restored. Just can't take the BS to watch this show. The few times I forced myself to watch I can only take about 5 minutes of the dialog and I turn the channel. If I worked in a environment like that, I wouldn't make it a day.

I just have to wonder - Why choose a shop where the people can't even be respectful and get along? I believe most people want to take their car to shop that acts professionally. Good teams do good work. Other kinds of teams?...... Well, you might get results like Mr. Creston's Charger and its long list of basic and obvious problems.

Things to consider  :Twocents:

If I chose to have a car restored or modified by a shop the bottom line would be the cost vs what I get.

If a television show shop has a better deal for me (considering the bottom line) then why not? :shruggy:

I suspect that GYC has a big interest in ratings as a source of revenue no??    Aside from that I wonder if any of their customers might use the notoriety as a selling point for their car. :scratchchin:  Human nature does strange things to practical thinking. :icon_smile_wink:

Question---has anyone that has had a car restored by a shop been interested in the personal lives of those that restored the car? :smilielol:

Given roughly equal costs and abilities, do you take your car to the shop where they are a good team and act professionally, or the one where they constantly bitch and torment each other? You are getting more for your buck in the former example.  Most people, I think, would even pay a little more to use a shop that they had confidence in. Team dysfunction does not inspire confidence.

If it was my shop on TV, I would not be happy with either 1) the way we are portrayed, or 2) the way we actually act - whichever is true. Maybe its all for the camera. Who knows? Fame can make people do strange things.

I'm hopeful that the show will change its tune so that it is more pleasurable to watch. Otherwise, I'll pass on most of it just like last season.

NO of course not, any job boils down to  cost, quality, and time no mater what it is.     I have only seen the show  (Fanthom Works) a few times but in what I have seen there hasn't been the crap factor.

Uh oh...the "hot daughter/niece/sister/neighbor joins the crew" trope that signals the end of many a reality show. GYC, we hardly knew ye.

I enjoyed the 70 Barracuda convertible reveal , when the tape rewound on my screen in the beginning of the show  I was like what the F*k lol, that was pretty cool. I like the added "Cuda" hood but I think as a customer I would have also wanted to ad the rear valance pan with the Cuda tips coming through it. I like the trivia questions , I have not got one wrong yet !  My family is like good lawd when they tell the answer.  :D

It seems they have delivered as promised with less drama and more focus on restoring cars.  There still was a little goofing around, but dramatically reduced from other seasons.

I was laughing when they were trying to drop in the motor with a deep pan on the Magnum Force K-member. Then they replaced the pan only to have it hit the oil pickup.  It seems a true professional Mopar only shop would have caught that, but we all make mistakes and forget things.

less goofing around is better, I do like some of Marks comments like telling the one guy that he's gonna look like Jupiter from the movie the hills have eyes, lol not everyone would get it but I did. :icon_smile_big:

69 OUR/TEA

O.K , I don't follow it to closely , I know Derren and Josh are gone , what about Holly and the other Derren , the one who paints ? And , Marks daughter Allysa , isn't she married to Josh and had a kid with him, on the other nights show , she was holding what looked like a new born ?

Chargen69

I thought they were split up.

BTW, started watching it on DVR, fell asleep 1/2 way through, woke up the next morning and deleted it, and dont care

moparstuart

so anyone watch them breeze through the Rebody of the Cuda last night by AMD , then say it was an all documented restoration .  The New orange over spray on the new AMD parts was a dead give away how they were trying to pass it off  .  LMAO
