Hello all,

Had a quick question regarding the in-tank fuel pump (Tanks, Inc.), to ask please:

System is an EFI (600hp unit) with the grounding going to the battery. Every once in a great while, I hear the pump creating a whining sound. If the numbers are correct at 12-13.5V and 7-8A draw at the pump and I'm changing out the fuel filter, is there anything else to check for? There are no other loads added, such as CD players, accessories, etc.

Observation: the only difference I've noticed is that, after a run, the car typically goes right back onto a battery tender. In prior seasons, the tender is fully charged within mere minutes after a drive. Recently, however, it's been taking the battery (5 year old RedTop Optima) several hours to fully 'recharge.' Granted, maybe it's just the tender itself needing, say, a new fuse I realize, but if it's the battery having the problem (and since the grounding from the pump is to the battery), perhaps that is causing the issue with the pump. Of course, I'll be checking the battery health ASAP, but didn't know if that could be a factor affecting the pump....

Thank you for any and all input,
