what do you think ? I modified a new reproduction standard set . Basically stretched it out , 3 hours on each one , including buffing .on the right is the new  stock right front and on the left is my modified  new left front

The way I approached this project was , its not rocket science, if they did it back in 69 it shouldn't be rocket science in 06

nascarxx29

The daytonas ones are always in high demand.Might be a market for yours .As the daytonas lower valance extension requires a longer modified 70 charger one

Heres is my old 70 daytona clone from the 80-s.Ted did the front mouldings on it .Not sure what method he applied to them

Dave I know you mean well , What the hell are you talking about ! I have a 69 valance and straightened out a new 69 trim and it fits perfect ! Stick to production numbers  , leave the actual  work to others . Did you look at the pix ? what is your point . It took my 3 hours to re-shape it !!!!!!!!!!!!!! One more thing , my moulding was new for a 69 , don't know or care if it is the same for a 70 , the 69 fits perfect . What do you think they are worth ?

nascarxx29

I mean as the 1969 daytona used 70 charger hood and fenders .The lower extension valance used was designed. For use with the 70 charger parts .A 69 charger valance would be consitant with the 69 fenders that are notched for the bumper. And not useable for the 1969 daytona front end

Im confused , what does this have to do with the valence ?

nascarxx29

The valance the part that houses the side marker light that you use IS NOT A 1969 PART.That goes under the edges of the 1970 charger fenders. wheel trim contour and length should differ as to that.I wasnt aware that you have owned so many wingcars and been in the wingcar clubs over 30 years to be this boards resident expert. And restored and sold parts to many board members .And worked on many original wingcars

We all know why  a 69 vs 70valance  is different . Why are you making life difficult ! the wheelwell trim is the same for 68-70 end of story !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Again I don't ever recall you restoring a single car , just storing unrestored cars . Your great at non physical tasks !!!!!!!!!!! stick to production numbers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

nascarxx29

I dont dispute 68-70 CHARGER mouldings are alike .But the 1969 daytonas are different.Due to 1970 charger front sheet metal parts.I didnt use a 1969 VALANCE .Thats what you said  {QUOTE}1969 valance

Dave I know you mean well , What the hell are you talking about ! {{{{{{I have a 69 valance and}}}}

So your saying I didnt undertake a remake over nose on MD based 1969 daytona the only one you ever had the chance to sit or ever ride in one by my hand to date .Or help out to put together supply parts and named in various articles for a customer a pink superbird convertible that was in MCG magazine in the 90-s..Seems daytonalo has a memory lapse doesnt seems to recall. To who he reached out to for parts and car to research .And who survivor daytona it was continuslly revisited for numerous 1969 daytona details. To later build a 70 daytona clone. And recommended this website

No problem on my end I appreciate all shared info on this board. And reading daytonlos comments such as these

In the shit hole I call home [NEW JERSEY} if the vehicle is 25 years and older you can reg it as an antique and you pay a one time reg fee and there is no emission testing . Now that I think about , every other thing is fucked up about this state but that . One of the biggest embarrassment was when our governor was taking in the ass , what a disgrace !!!!!!!!!!!!

Again for 895k my point was that is as-same the small details are incorrect , thats all that I'm saying . One more thing for 895 k the seller better include me banging his wife as part of the deal !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can recall getting a temporary ban from TROY for arguing with another board member without making repeated vulgar statements

yea Dave, say it loud. I LIVE IN NJ AND I'M MAD AS HELL! AND I'M NOT GONNA TAKE IT ANYMORE!
I won't be wronged, I wont be Insulted and I wont be laid a hand on. I don't do these things to others, and I require the same from them.

Dave has come a very long way . Considering he just learned to walk upright 2 years ago !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dave your a walking text book on daytonas . I don't see any pic of any work you have done , you know why ? because about all you can do is  install a rivet and you f---ing know it !!!!!!!!!!!! If you had the slightest clue on car restoration your car would have not have sat in the garage since 87  . Thats my point , you couldn't even disassemble a complete car and reassemble , never mind build a replica !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I post pic on this site for the sharing of , and helping others to build a nice recreation .Again the only thing your good for is tracing a f----ing VIN# cut me a ---- ing break You have about pushed me to the limit . P.s Carl says WHERES THE MONEY?
Oh one more thing , on the MD nose , the one you used a screen door bracket for the headlight door ? And the nose was hanging off to on side 1/2 inch , oh yea nice work ,  when I asked you whats up with that , your response was DA I DON'T KNOW ! your a butcher , always have been !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

dads_69

I'm interested in wheel well trim myself for my clone, but how in the world did this topic get turned over to a pissing match? If you have any front wheel well trim for sale Larry, I'd be interested in a pair for the front of my clone. Good work by the way as always. Keep it up!
Mark
Hey, you can hate the game but don't hate the player.

daytonalo

What I did was buy a new reproduction charger set , worked out the forward bent section . It spent three hours on it including sanding and polishing it . if you send me a new reproduction set I might consider it , although I will have to charge you .

nascarxx29

Atleast I dont pass off lemans convertible in the area off as GTO's.I guess you will also be the authority on building a hemi motor with 440 parts. As Scott K did long before you even had a hemi anything.I talked to Carl yesterday he has no problem.Seems I was driving at 14 building cars from rolling parts and basket cases long before you even had a license .

Get a f------ing life I spoke to Carl and he told me you should at least give him 10 ! I don't want to get in the middle , but he said  your scum for going behind his back and buying the daytona !!!!!!!! Again stick to the Vin # s , your great at that , big f----ing deal . i heard you sold the daytona for 125 k , ? Was the buyer aware that the car  was in a flood ????????? Your a horses ass , you mean I cant install 440 heads on a hemi .

thats funny He told me last week that you said whenever you sold the daytona you will give him 10 grand , thats what he said !!!!!!!!!!! I  will settle thisonce and for all tomorrow , I will call him . cut the bullshit , this thread is to show  and help people build a clone . you will have to settle for a ertl model now that you sold your car that in 20 years never restored it . I will be in merchantville on Thur , see ya !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

nascarxx29

Im not sure why this particular car. That used 70 charger fenders and typical daytona nose.had to splice the front wheel mouldings.Might be a isolated incidence on a 1 of 1 car

Upon close inspection, you can see the lower front fender valance panels appear to be a completely custom-made piece for this conversion, not like a 1969 Daytona's valances. The {front wheel well moulding appears to have been made from two pieces of trim, split down near the valance panel seam}. Looking under the hood at the latch tray and nosecone attachment, everything looks normal.
