Technically speaking this belongs in wheels/tires/... but I thought everybody might like to see it.

I built a little Flash program to calculate RPM and MPH based on all the variables -- tires, axle, and transmission.  There's quite a few pages that do this, but I think mine is better.   ;)  Check it --> http://vexer.com/68rt/speed.html  It's the companion piece to one I wrote a while ago for tire/wheel fitment, which was an early Flash programming effort -->http://vexer.com/68rt/wheelguide.html

Let me know what you think as well as useful suggestions/critiques.  I've still got a couple parts to finish and more work, but it's pretty much there.  enjoy

G'day mate,

that is an absolutely fantasic site - well done. As mentioned though.....PLEASE do a 3rd Gen set-up for the wheels. That would be incredibly helpful.

Very nicely done    Now I see why you needed the pic of the tach.

I'll leave this here for a day or so & then move it to the wheel/tire tech section.

Yeah, I didn't want to leave out you 3rd or even 1st gen guys, but that's the only tach/speedo pics I could find right away, and well, I've got a 2nd gen so that's where I started.   ;D  Now, if anybody has really good pics of a 3rd gen tach and speedo, then I can put them in.  The camera lens has to be almost inline with the center of the gauge or the readout will be distorted, like on my current tach.  I can only do so much to it in photoshop.

I'll prolly do a 3rd gen wheel guide someday, but I don't have one to measure.

G'day again John,

the tach doesn't worry me so much, it's the fact that I'm currently thinking of new wheels myself, but here in Australia I haven't got any other 3rd Gen cars to look at. Your wheel "sizer" if done on a 3rd Gen would make it so i wouldn't have to look at one in real life.

Sure, I'll take 'em, that would be great.  Thanks!

BTW, I've finished the custom axle & trans bits.  Now, if you feel like going 200 (NYCMille) you can put in your own axle and trans gear and see what that does.
