Ok..  Walking into DMC you can tell immediately that the shop's a bit "empty". Things are moved to another end of the shop (and in trailers) in anticipation of the floor's being refinished this week. They were cleaning/prepping the floors... So I got what shots I could to show you guys.. This is one impressive shop full of talent.

The best over in the corner... Jon @ Tube Chassis Designz built this car from a bare shell. It's a sick street/strip car.

Then off to the other side, where a few vehicles were being kept out of the way...

I believe I heard them say this was a 9 second truck.

One word for this thing... AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!

And this is for sale.. Over $90k to build... On the block for $31k!! It's a '57..

A few more toys kicking around the shop...  Nothing short of incredible around there!!

This is freakin' incredible!!!!!!!!!

A few more random shots...

And a shot I got on the way home that I KNOW will make all you guys drool...

Oh yeah, baby, it doesn't get much better'n that!!

See ya next week!!

The aluminum panels are for the tubbed area inside the Vette... As for the rear side marker lights , I think they are going to be there, as this is to be a cool pro-street car, but I'll find out for sure before I answer that one.

EDIT -- I just talked to Chuck. He said that it's NOT going to have rear side marker lights.  That's a label from the (new) quarters, not a template/opening for a marker light.

 Nah, no cheating.. I've been a member of Corvette Forum for 10 years, but I rarely go there any more... I like all makes (US) , so I can't say I'm not a fan of anything else, I guess I'm just a bit obsessed with the Mopar world right now...

As for the intake, I'll have to ask Chuck what the story is..

Speaking of Chuck, he wanted me to post an endorsement of his favorite person, so here goes.

Ok, here are a few shots.... As I said, DMC was getting an epoxy treatment done on their floors and had their shop cleared out.. So cars were here, there and everywhere...

The motor from the '57. A 1964 Corvette motor mated to a 3 speed.

Project SuperNova...Waiting to be wet sanded and buffed.

The GTO is officially underway...

One of the cars DMC is storing in Chuck's shop:

I didn't get any shots at DMC because they had a lot going on , and the floor in the shop area was soaked.. So I walked around their pro-shop in awe for a few minutes and then split...

There will be some better shots next week, I promise!!

I meant to answer you on the intake...  It's a stock 2bbl intake from the 331 Hemi.  When it's built, it'll have a blower on it with (6) 1bbl carbs.  :icon_smile_cool:

I like the green Nova also, is it going to be another 572 ride? Seems the new size of choice for chevy people...Ron also!

Hi Ron --- The guys aren't 100% sure what's going in it for a build, but they said it was a 600CI +/- motor.. That much they did know...

I went to the shop this afternoon.. DMC was closed today, due to the Holiday weekend, but Chuck & Blair were working, so I have a few new shots to share!!

The frame to the 57 Chevy Convertible is back. The owner decided he couldn't tackle the project of blasting /painting the frame, so the boys will be doing it. What a wild frame design!!

The Vette's interior is coming along. All of the tin has been painted & installed..  I think this thing looks awesome!!

The nose is glued on and the car's really beginning to look like a car again!!

Project SuperNova is all buffed out and ready to roll out, soon!!

Spotted the cut-outs hanging down under the car...

The 'Maro's had more sanding this week...

The Hemi Dart (Clone) is ready to move on to it's suspension shop (next door)

The GTO Judge build is well in route...

And finally, this is the rear axle Chuck's using on his 100% custom project that we will soon be "watching" the build come together.. This thing's gonna be WILD, and something that would totally make Ed Roth proud!!

More next week... When things go back to "normal", almost!!

jb666

Oh yeah, can't forget the shop view on my way out the door...

Also, the tank that Chuck's building from scratch...

THE END!!

I wanted to share these pictures with you guys... A few cool NO SNOW pictures with Chuck's altered wheel base... He built this thing out of a rotted corpse, and sold it earlier this year. I, unfortunately, didn't have the pleasure of seeing this in person as he sold it when my General first went to his shop.

More pictures later, from today's visit...

And Jon @ Tube Chassis Designz got a cool write up on a project he's building!!!!

http://www.bangshift.com/blog/Part-One-Project-Fat-Lane.html

I just love seeing the 3 shops that have had such an impact in my life get some well deserved publicity!!!!

FLG

Cant wait to visit the other 2 Jeff!!

Bat Cave is right!!

When anyone asks where i had the work done, ill just ell em Batman and Robin did it!

Or should i say it more like Baatmaan and Raabin worked on my hat rad!

jb666

OK, I just got back from my trip to Chuck & Blair's shop, and there's lots to show you!! Things have come, and things have gone, since the last pictures were posted.. Lot's of cool stuff going on here!!

First, I walked in to see the old frame to the '57 Chevy Convertible.. But, it's all sandblasted and powdercoated.. The fact that this is 100% original, to me, is awesome.... This thing is going to be incredible!!

I'll have plenty more shots of this car in the upcoming weeks....

Next, I saw that the Vette has been skim coated and is in the process of being sanded out.. It's starting to shape up VERY nicely!

I think the tin-work on this thing turned out perfect!!

TO BE CONTINUED.......

jb666

The guys got me a REALLY cool surprise today, that I wanted to share with you. A friend of theres know what I went through with my car, so he presented me with this 30+ year old model.. It's now proudly displayed on my model! I thought it was cool though..

Check out this awesome '35 Ford that just arrived for a make-over!!!!!!!

Someone once said old tires were cool, so here you go!!

Nice "retro" shot...

And a couple of "aerial" shots

TO BE CONTINUED.......

jb666

The tank that Chuck's been building is moving along.. He doesn't have a bike that this tank will be going on.. Instead, he says this is his creative "blackboard" for a custom paint job that he's got in mind.. I can't wait to see this one!!

I walked into the paint booth to find an amazing Ford Lightning sitting there.. Custom, head to tow.. There's nothing on this truck that's been left stock. It's been assumed there is probably $100k in this truck. It's a show piece!!

The Pontiac:

The BoatTail..

And finally, the shot that made me realize I needed to get out of there before the lights went out and I was REALLY in trouble:

THE END!!
