I am probably going to be looked at as strange but I have always at some point in my life to visit mississippi and I was wondering what it is like living there and I have an interest in Lousiana and am curious about what life is like their and what the cajun and creole people are like if any of you have ever had any experience with either one of them.

i've lived in louisiana and mississippi all my life. love it here. i have 2 places in Louisiana and 2 pieces of land in Mississippi, one on a lake, one on the beach near gulfport. What would you like to know? and YES it's hot, but the worst is the humidity 7 months of the year

I guess the thing I am the most curious about is what the cajuns and creoles are like in terms of personality, traditions, customs, etc.

Oh,and with mississippi having the education system it does has that effected the average person's intelligence?

The education in mississippi didn't affect me, hukd on phonx workd fur me!. I got a full scholarship to college and that was in Mccomb public school system. As far as personality i don't think the southern states can be beat, if you're not from around here it's almost weird how nice people are. When i have friends come down from up north they flip out at how polite people are: holding doors for you, waving etc. I'm not knocking northern people, just stating how people are around here. Now if you get WAY down in Louisiana you better bring an interpreter with you.. just kidding.. Some of the dialect is a little thick and they have sayings not heard anywhere else, but that's customary in any region. Back to Mississippi, gotta admit, there's not much to see or "visit" there, and it's very boring, even Jackson, the biggest city, is not much to brag about.. and Gulfport/Biloxi is nothing near what it was pre-Katrina.

:iagree:

I spent 30 years in East Texas and still have a home down there. I've traveled all through the south and you will not find a better bunch of people anywhere.
