2nd gens with power trunk release. Button in glove box?

Is the button for the release originally in the glove box?  I'm adding this mod but I'll probably buy a small momentary switch to mount under the dash or next to the seat or something but I'm curious where it's 'supposed' to be.

If anyone added this mod I'd be interested to see what button you have and where it's mounted.

Would be a good mod to add actually  :2thumbs: the commodores have the release button in the glovebox but even unobtrusively inside the console box could work too, I suppose just grab one similar off a wrecker yard would do

Yep, thinking of going with this and mount it in console or under the dash lip, it's tiny enough you can hide it just about everywhere.

On the 70 Polara, they are on the left side of the glovebox.  I know that is a C body of course, but might give you an idea of where the factory would put them.

Thaks Nacho!  I had never seen the full vacuum kit, that's real nifty.  I thought about going stock but since I'm modding so much I decided to get the electronic latch, I have one coming my way.

The trunk button is a bit pricey compared to a generic momentary switch but I have to admit that would look real nice under the dash.  But dang, $25 for a switch that needs to be redone is a bit much imo.   :rotz:

redone? the SMALL details the bezel has will be INVISIBLE under the dash...

that just my opinion though :P

they usually float on quite often  on ebay anyway ;) maybe cheaper in fact.

Knowing there's a scratch on it, I HAVE to fix it.  I can't leave it like that, don't have it in me.   :icon_smile_big:

When there's nothing else to be found, I will compromise...but this can't be the only one left I hope!   :icon_smile_big:

No doubt I could find one of these if I look long enough, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to make an offer so I ended up getting the switch for a good deal.  I just received the latch so the trunk part is covered.   :2thumbs:
