Who in their right mind would say

"The science should not stand in the way of this."?

Science is just observation and hypothesis.  Policy stands in the way.........

Or maybe it protects us.

I suppose it depends on the specific case.....

Thats some really great looking work.

Great job on the compound curves! If I may ask, did you use a steamer? And what glue did you use??

My buddy at the local sound shop did the install. They are vinyl panels. Not sure how he heated and stretched or what glue he used? Thanks all for the kind words. Clean and practical is what I asked for. That's what I got!

I was gonna say, that doesn't look like a first-go-around.

Nice solution!

Seems like there needs to be an aftermarket trunk liner akin to this.  I was always super paranoid about something rolling around in the trunk and giving my quarter panel a nice big 'outie' dent.  I put my fender work mats on the sides and then had a series of heavy cardboard boxes for cargo.

moparguy01

very nice. what did he make those side parts out of? wood also?

Wookie316

Yes it is MDF then fiberglass and sanded smooth and wrapped in vinyl.

Sold my Charger unfortunately....never got it finished.

Very nice. I'm curious what holds the side panel doors in place? I dont see any hinges or latches.

They are a friction fit. Actually my buddy who designed and built it did an awesome job.

Very nice trunk, Wookie.  :2thumbs:
I sometimes wish the installer did a better job of layout on mine to give me more trunk space.
