Tail lights and rear marker lights stay on

Hi, I just swapped in a passon Hemi Overdrive trans over my stock 4 speed. Way better. The issue is, since I did the swap, my tail lights and rear marker lights stay on, and you can't shut them off. I know the two have no relation, but something must have happened during the swap.

Has anyone run into this? The headlights still go on and off with the headlight switch, but the rears won't shut off.

My thought is it is a blown headlight switch, but any input would be helpful.

What comes to mind first is that the wiring somehow got pinched. The rear light harness should be routed under the left door sill plate in a channel specifically for the rear lights, trunk light and the fuel sender wire. I don't see how a transmission swap could result in this.

I agree with Kern Dog and how far apart any of the light wire would have been from the transmssion stuff

Do all the other lights work like normal on the back ?
Turn signals , 4 ways , brake lights , reverse lights ?

Did the new transmission have the NSS in it the same as the factory one did for the back up lights ?
That would have the only wire that has anything to do with any lights as it is the back up light switch
Maybe try unplugging it to see if lights would go out ?

Strange problem to run into :scratchchin:

Turns out it was a stuck brake light switch behind the pedal. Not sure why it affected the marker lights, but it's fixed.

So, was it the tail lights and rear marker lights staying on or the brake lights and rear marker lights staying on? Now that it's "fixed", do the marker lights come on with the brake lights?
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

No, the marker lights do not come on with the brake lights when you hit the pedal. Apparently this is a common issue with the pedal switch in my googling. When it's stuck, the markers come on for some reason.

Year?

Is it also the dome light slightly dimming on?
