Pulled the 69 out of storage recently and noticed that the rear left turn signals and brake lights are not working (right side is fine).  Bench tested all bulbs, and all are fine.  All taillights work.

I can think of two possible causes - turn signal switch or flasher.   Advise/recommendations?

Turning switch or related (plug down the column)

Do you have both front and rear turning (and cluster) failing? Or really just rear?

Flashers works for both sides and has nothing to do with brakes (which per your description is failing too)

Thanks Nacho, you're the man.

Front signals work, but blink faster than normal.

Nacho-RT74

Ok. It does blink faster because the missed load on rear bulbs. The flasher works with amperage load requested by the bulbs. With loads reduced the flasher will heat less and that will make it blink faster

Definitely it points out to the turning switch or plug down the column. The contact to rear left signal, brown wire as far I recall (either for brakes and turnings, since is the same line) is not getting any contact, neither in rest position which should be in contact with white wire coming from brakes pedal switch or activated to the left which should be in contact with red wire coming from flasher. TIPICALLY the fail is related to the canceling cam assembly which is nowdays serviceable. Althought the contact fail could be also on turning switch body contact. They usually get worn by friction along the years. Canceling cam refresh partially at least the contact surface on one of the contacts sides.

But just in case, check the plug down the column if you note some weird at brown wire (loosen? broken?)

(Pretty sure left side is dark brown... but could be dark green? I always forget which side is which one of those two)

You should be able to get brakes back in fact jumping out the white and dark brown wires at plug and press brakes... just for test to confirm. Same about the turning jumping brown with red (should blink... fast)
