Would you like to "round up" to fund the charity for one legged midgets ?

Everyone seems to have their hand out nowadays.
It is bad enough to see the bums at off ramps with pitiful faces and skinny dogs. They hold their cardboard signs and hope that you make eye contact.
You go to buy a pizza and they troll for a tip. I'm not sitting down to eat there, I'm not using napkins, I'm not adding to the trash can or using the toilet.
I buy a few screws and light bulbs at the ACE Hardware and they ask if I want to round up the purchase to fund some hospital that I have never heard of.
There are those stupid ads on TV, begging for money for impoverished Jewish people or the Kars of Kids scam we have discussed here before.
Thursday I went to Taco Bell for the wife. The clerk asked me if I wanted to "round up" for some bullshit charity.
No, I don't.
I help out family, I help out friends. I don't give money away to nameless, faceless organizations that could possibly be funneling the money to the staff instead of the people as is done in most of the well known charities.
Sure, rounding up is always less than a dollar so some may find it to be no big deal. I do though.
Back during the Covid bullshit, I'd get pissed at store staff that required me to wear a mask. I took it out on the staff instead of who really deserved the backlash....those that are actually behind it all. I got to where I was firm but polite to the workers once the wife convinced me that they were just doing what their bosses told them to do.
I am that way now with this money grab. I'm polite to the people asking but I would really like to tell them that with $6.00 gas and ground beef at $10 a lb, I am tired of having my wallet squeezed for money.

I don't want to round up or down. Give me my exact change and we can all move on happily.

I hear you guys. Its insane. Took my son to a Boston Bruins hockey game this past year and after dropping about 40  bucks on a couple of hot dogs and drinks, the guy spins the thing around for me to put in a tip.

you have to actually press several buttons to give no tip. You have to scroll to put in a custom amount and then put zero. Its nuts, they actually feed on people who are lazy and will just press the button to move along.

Madness..

There is no way the businesses are giving that round up money to employees. Lol. They do donate it. Its a brilliant idea really, guilt everyone to round up every order, make hundreds of thousands per year free, then donate it for the tax write off.

If i want to donate money to a group, i will donate it directly to the group. Not through a middle man taking the tax write off.
