The boss is out of town and we were instructed to take a sold car out of the showroom.  I picked what went where  ;)

Here's one for the 500 fans and one for the Daytona fans--

Nice display but I'd fire that guy working on the Daytona, it looks like he barely moved the entire time you were taking those pics.  :D

C500

Wow, what a great place to work. I like the showroom set-up too. Thanks for pix

Nice pics Doug. Any chance to get a copy of them from ya in high resolution? You know me I'm a sucker for any pictures.  :smilielol:

pettybird

first, that dummy makes me look productive, so I'm in no hurry to fire him.

when i'm here late at night, though, they still give me the willies.  we have a pair of 'em and the other one is creepy...

I live in Brooklyn, which is a 37 mile hike from here.  I know people drive further, but I'm a slacker and don't like the drive ;)  have you been here yet?  we have 65+ cars on display--

Danny go to my flckr account http://flickr.com/photos/pettybird.  click on one of the pics, then click "all sizes" in the mini toolbar on top.  you can select "original size" on top of THAT picture (no, there's no easier way to do it) and right click/save.

ALL of my pics work that way there--my albums are all public folders, and I have LOTS of pictures (more than 4000) there.

We've done some nice upgrades to the 500 since it's been here.  we put new console top plates, a restored woodgrain wheel, new sill plates, new inside door handles, a new shift knob and new upper pads in the interior, and a new ballast resistor, new radiator cap and a couple other things under the hood.  I also refinished the radiator top tank and painted the front side in a glossier black to dress it up.  we've kept everything we've taken off, too, in case the next guy really wants a worn out shift ball or dinged sill panels...

now what's really killing me is that we're re shooting the pics of the Daytona next week, and the construction on the road out front is so bad I couldn't sneak the car out for a round-the-block trip without losing my job!

and yes it'd almost be worth it.  don't think the thought hadn't crossed my mind  ;)

I hear ya.  There used to be a Harry Truman dummy out at RM and it was kind of unnerving until someone put a turban on him (then he just looked too silly to creep you out).  I don't know whatever happened to him?

Thanks for the link Doug. I've though of doing an account on there to post some picture, but not sure who else would wanna see 900 pictures of the same car. Is there really other people out there like me and Gene?

Ghoste

You're kidding, right?  (I mean the part about wondering if there are others like you)

69_500

Not really, there has to be at least 1 more out there somewhere doesn't there? I mean with 7,000,000,000 people on earth there has to be more than just 2 right? And what are the odds of us both liking Daytona's.

Hey doug, so where did you park the Superbird now? And from the one picture it looks like the Charger 500 emblems in the grille are more towards the center than over towards the headlight, could be the angle of the picture though. hard to count the little squares from the side.

While we certainly didn't invent the "photohound" concept, I think you've elevated things a notch or two with your photo documentation efforts.   :yesnod:   I just bring a toy camera along for getting into the places yours won't fit.

Nice pics, Doug!!  What's a little road tar on a HemiDaytona - you guys coulda had that car detailed clean in no time flat.  It's a little harder to replace all that tire tread you'd burn off  :P

in order...

Brooklyn Ohio--it's a surprisingly common name.  yes, you're kidding, but about half the states have a Brooklyn.

if we bought the dummy a turban i'd wear it.

even if you were the only two (and you're not) it's what, $30 for off site, internet accessible backup?  think of the headaches you could have avoided with your crash if they were copied elsewhere!  obviously an archive like that is worth sharing for the information alone!  I have at least 2000 more pictures that aren't on the site--i need to get on the ball.

look at our site www.bestofshowautomotive.com and see if it looks crooked in the head on shots.  I don't look closely enough at 500's to tell where emblems should be, but a little voice told me they were too centered, as well.

thanks on the pics.  maybe I could just shave down the front tires to match ;)

yes that is the car.  I need to install the jacks (we didn't get them with the car) the taillight bezels (we rechromed a mint set for it,) the inner door handles which are horrifically pitted for some reason, install sail panel "charger" emblems and replace the door lock buttons with black ones.  Amazing the dumb things you need to do to a high dollar resto car, isn't it?

I started it this afternoon.  it's the first time it's come to life since I started here in march.  It sounds awesome with the resonators on there.

I knew it was John Ketts old daytona and know of its prior owners history .I sent him the zerox copies Ed Ryan paperwork dealer invoice and warranty papers.someone I had been in contact with who had the originals. And thats how I got a copy.Your right doesnt matter how much you spend there is always needed details to be done over after a resto. But if you can imagine this car with the roof off it .As it was replaced due to retro added custom sunroof. The interior had been lightly modified to .But how the roof script charger emblems were left off.You can always expect the jacks to be missing .

I spy a '70 Charger hood on that Daytona.....  :scope:

I remember seeing that car in a national mopar magazine... It's a cream-buff of a car let alone a Daytona.......
