The wire on mine snapped right behind the rubber connector and I can't find any new ones.

If you can't find one, I have a spare harness I was using to take connectors from, you are welcome to it

You might contact Evans, they make wiring harness's all the time

Chances are if it broke the wire is brittle anyway ... prolly should replace that as far back as you can go.

I bought the Pico connector and it's too small. Do I need another size or is my water temp sensor the wrong size?

I still say try Evans. I'm sure he has them.

How small is too small?   A little reaming or spreading of the connector with a drill or punch wont help?

I don't think so no. The connector itself is just a thin layer of brass and the rubber encasing it prevents reaming it out. I'd end up with just a rubber connector and nothing conductive. This one probably fits the cigarette lighter in the console though so no loss. I just need to either find a bigger connector for the temp sensor, or a new sensor.

Checking them now.

The wire was brittle yes so I spliced the connector onto a new wire a few years back and it was fine. I actually snapped the connector off recently when I bundled all the wires to get them out of the way, and the connector got stuck behind the alternator bracket. My fault.

Mine was tight too. Just used a small screwdriver to push out the brass connector. Now goes on all the way. The rubber part is supposed to be somewhat tight to hold connector on.
