OK,
I'm registered, time to get some new wheels and tires on the car and change the oil....Better check for leaks now too....... ::)
you pay my registration too then :)
I have had tons of small little nagging things from letting it sit 3 years , so im trailering

Stuart, you still heading down early Thursday? I'm planning to hit the road from Central IL at some obscene early hour.

Also, If anyone else is heading down Thursday I'll be traveling from Peoria IL, Bypassing St Louis, then I-64 to My Vernon IL- I-57 to I-24 through Nashville and I-65 to Birmingham.
traveling with other old cars is always more entertaining!

Scott,
We are leaving southern Illinois Thursday morning using I-24 over to I-65.
So we might meet up somewhere along the way?
If not see you at the reunion!
MJ

Our plan is similar.   57 south out of Chicago to 24, then 65.     Have heard that 65 between Chicago and Indy is bad ju-ju with construction.

Curious..
I looked at Tim's Museum website and it mentions registration Thursday Night and Friday Morning at the Museum, but then it echoes in another section of registration at their house on Friday at 10am.... What would be the proper way or are they just providing options...

See ya'll there..

Who else is in the Hampton Inn? Just now got a room. Boy am I last minute or what.

I echo Troy's question on registering. I had thought I completed it online, but it appears I did not. So do I need to do it at the museum on Friday morning or at Tims house?

TheAutoArchaeologist

You can register online at any time.  Or you can do it in person for the same price Thurs/Fri.

This price will be the same price online or at the door.

Also you can purchase tickets online up to 1 week before the reunion.  After that it will only be at the show.

Guess this changed.

I'm posting pictures every night on my flickr page.

Also I am doing updates of video and pics on my "The Auto Archaeologist" page on Facebook.

I'd be pissed if I drove 2500 miles based on the "at the door", only to find out once there I couldn't get in. Would be my general luck though..

All I can say is WOW!
I got back home this morning about 1:30 AM, safely with no car issues and still grinning!
This was my third Aero reunion in Talladega and it was by far my favorite.
Kudos to Doug and the rest of the people from the club and to Tim Welborn and the army of people in Alexander City & Talladega. I enjoyed the time (and food) at Tim's house and the museum. The trip up to the track this year was really nice, the pull-off and regroup on the shoulder was a great idea and the police escort/traffic control for us into the track was super.
Overall this was a great event and very well done. I'm already looking forward to 2019!
Personally for me, the best part was that outside of a mysterious electrical gremlin that disappeared 10 minutes after it showed up, my car ran great and did not use any oil or require any repairs!

By the numbers: I put 1,722 miles on the Superturd in those 4 days, burned 348 gallons of gas, averaged about 11.2 MPG and consumed no oil or other parts!
:2thumbs:

Wish I could've done this again this year, but it wasn't in the cards, what's this about 2019?  :scratchchin:

by my math: 1,722 miles / 348 gallons of gas = 4.9 miles per gallon  :icon_smile_big:
