"Correct" Daytona Tires

Could I get some feedback, hopefully factual, regarding the most correct redline tire for a Daytona? I'm finding that there are claims that both Goodyear and Firestone were used. I'm referring to the F70-14, T83 or T85. Daytona build date: 5 15.

Thanks

Goodyear is going back on mine, which is what Dad said was on it when he picked it up at the dealership.

My Daytona - I think the spare tire is the original that came with...I got the car in June, 1978.

The 7 digit code says built April of 1969 in Akron, Ohio.

Goodyear Custom Wide Tread Polyglas F70-14 redline - same as in the photo sent by Held...

Hi Bob,        18 Sep 25

I thought all Daytona's came with 15 inch tires. Our 68 Hemi RR had 15 inch Goodyear redlines, our 69 Super Bee 440 Six-Pack came with 15 inch Goodyear red lines.

I remember the day we were driving our 69 Hemi Daytona (Now your Hemi Daytona) home. We hadn't gone far and were pulled over by an Ohio State Patrolman. We hadn't gotten 5 miles when we were stopped. Turns out the patrolman just wanted to look at the car.

Of all the cars we've had, that was my favorite .... until Dena bought her Race Red Mustang Dark Horse 6 Speed. Now it's a tie. I still think the Daytona would win in a flat out run. I had her to 140 on I-75 in the U.P. of Michigan. It felt like she was doing the driving, solid as a rock. Thought I was imagining it until years later in one of your posts you mentioned talking to the NASCARr friend of yours. You asked him what it was like driving a Daytona on the super speedways. You quoted him as saying: "They drove themselves." That's when I realized I hadn't been imagining the Daytona driving itself. Those were the days.

Take Care Amigo; God Bless. Please give the Old gal a love pat for me.
