4sdEd - I have been trying to catch up with that A4 R/T SE sunroof car in NJ for a while now. Did he have the car at the show? Would love to get his contact info or have you send my contact info to him? Thanks for any help you can provide. Scott.

Nice car, but I don't think I'm ready to break open the little piggy for it

So wonder where they came up with the production number of 29 1969 RTSE sunroof cars and number left?

The 29 R/T SE sunroof Chargers for 1969 is the best most current accepted number for these cars - I think its a GG number. The 17 known to exist are the ones in the Mopar Sunroof Registry - 16 that I have Fender Tag / Buildsheet info on, and the F6 car that Jim Radke used to own that still eludes me - squirreled away in a collection in the southwest US.
In addition to these 17 - there are 3 others that I have info on but no proof they still exist. The first is the Triple black car that was pummeled by Hurricane Katrina, then possible burnt to a crisp in a resto-warehouse fire - I have a VIN and a picture, but am not sure this car is still around. There was a Y2 car sold new in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta that I have not caught up with yet. And a dealer invoice for a B3 car that has not surfaced yet.

Nice car, but for an outrageous price of 168 large, the thing should be restored to better than new condition, which it isn't.

And for crying out loud, if you're going to advertise a car, what's it take to clean the white letter tires, arrange the seat belts so they are neat, align the broken plastic on the end of the console and vacuum the carpet?  ::)

Just 6T9 CHGR

Forget the white letter tires....look at that stripe angle!  Yikes!

I have been told that the 29 number is based on someone doing basic math by percentage, and that may not be the accurate number.

I agree. In my opinion it's not worth $168K. Its great looking and has a 4 speed and sunroof, but for $168K, it would have to be a complete 99 point concours resto for me to pay the asking price.

How about those wrinkles on the verticals sections of the upper cowl in the engine bay? I don't think I've seen others look like that.

Ghoste

I believe I have but given the numbers of cars you've worked on KernDog now Im questioning my memory.

That ad is out of Car and Driver magazine from 1968. I am not sure which month or months it was run. Most likely late summer or fall. I too would love to have the original ad.

Tracked down the issue of Car and Driver. October of 1968. It is the issue that introduces the new car lines for 1969. The sunroof picture is not technically an ad. It is a page in the Chrysler section of the magazine that features "New Innovations". Found a copy on feeBay and its on its way. I will post a scan of the entire page when I get it. Scott.
